We Have More to Say…

We are not in the habit of trying to fix that which isn’t broken, but as the community of presentation professionals continues to evolve, we believe we have more to say now than we did the first time around.

For starters, Version 2007 is given full and equal treatment, with unconstrained discussions of topics that are salient to it. This is challenging in that we know that an equal percentage of our readers has chosen to remain with Versions 2003 or XP. Can one book cover both versions? We think we have, with clearly delineated topics, sidebars, and step-by-step instructions. As always, you’ll be the judge.

Perhaps the most significant update is Part III, Survival Skills for the Non-Designer. We know that most presentation content creators do not have a degree in graphic design or any formal background in the arts. Yet they are required to create engaging visual content on a daily basis. We devote five robust chapters to the topics and issues that we think are most salient to those tasked with presentation and slide design. Here is a sample chapter from that part.

Finally, we have revisited every example, every screen image, and every topic to ensure that they remain timely, relevant, and useful.

What did we cut out to keep the book the same size? Nothing. This second edition is over 100 pages longer than the first.
