Design a template, come for free

Here is your chance to show off your presentation-building skills and design flair and maybe win a free trip to the 2010 Presentation Summit. The Summit’s Template Design Contest is open to anyone and everyone: your mission is to create the slide design for the conference template. If chosen, your design would be used in all of our seminar tracks by just about all of our presenting team.

Your only requirements are that you include the words Presentation Summit. Other than that, the creative dance floor is all yours to work up an attractive design for our template. We will judge entries according to the following criteria:

  • Overall representation: How effectively does the design communicate the essence of the conference, and convey a positive and upbeat image?
  • Appearance: Is the design attractive? Does it allow for the use of slide designs other than just bullets? (Frankly, if you provided a template design that circumvented traditional bullets entirely, that would be a bonus!)
  • Usability: Will the design “wear” well? Patrons will be seeing it for hours on end and for days at a time.
  • While it is not a required component, creating a workable color scheme and slide master and displaying general knowledge of “good form” has carried weight with the judges in the past.

You can use your own artwork and digital media, or you can use any piece of art, photo, or other element you deem necessary. You are free to use any graphic or photo that you see across the Summit website—right-click any image and save it to your computer (we’ll substitute higher res versions if yours is the winning design). For reference, here are winning entries from previous years. The winning presentation will be showcased at the conference and its author will win a free trip to the conference.
