Get them where it hurts...right away!

 

BEFORE: These are nice-looking slides, but the problem is the story. The first content slide includes a litany of self-serving information, and the second slide details the company’s experience long before the audience would be interested in knowing that.

  AFTER: Now this is a slide that this audience can relate to. This is a much better start as it shifts the focus to issues that the audience faces. The second content slide zeroes in on customer pain points, after which the speaker can begin to hammer home a solution that will be much more engaging.
